Dream a Little Dream.

I was listening to the radio this lovely warm Christmas Eve morning, and they were doing a segment on, "Things That Bore or Interest Women."  Intrigued, I listened, and I was delighted by the results...

According to a new survey, about two-thirds of women say they’re COMPLETELY BORED with their lives.  And here are the Top Ten things that bore women the most…and the Top Ten things women WISH they were doing instead.
The Top Ten things that bore women the most are…
  1. Routine
  2. A lack of a social life
  3. Their job
  4. Not enough vacation time
  5. Housework
  6. Spending time on their appearance
  7. Depressing news
  8. Eating the same things all the time
  9. The house
  10. Responsibilities

And here are the Top Ten things women WISH they were doing INSTEAD of their boring lives…

  1. Going to an airport to get on the next random flight to anywhere
  2. Moving to another country
  3. Telling people what they REALLY think
  4. Quitting their job without having another job already lined up
  5. Getting a dramatic hair cut
  6. Putting the house up for sale and buying a new one
  7. Trying something new in bed
  8. Going back to school
  9. Getting a boob job
  10. Singing in public

So, why was I so happy?  Because I used to be one of those women that was making excuses for not living my life to its fullest, and I am proud to say that I am actually doing what 2/3 of women wish they could do.  I am following my dreams, and isn't that what life is all about?  When I first started with this idea of moving to Australia, everyone would laugh at me and look at me like "yeah right!" I would just smile knowing that they were wrong and that I was going no matter what.  No one actually believed me until I bought my ticket.  I want to get the message out there that whatever your excuse is for not following your dreams, you need to get rid of it. You deserve to live your best life, and you have the power to make anything happen.

  4. Oh Summer! I'm so happy for you. At first I thought you were only going to visit Australia. And I thought that was pretty cool already. Now, to find out you're going to move there is even more awesome. Live your life and your dreams. You can't ever go wrong with that. :)

  18. This is so amazing! I'm a new follower. I really love how daring you are and choose to determine how you live your life instead of making excuses. I'm finally doing that, and plan to move to NYC this April to pursue a career in fashion...no matter how hard it may be. I will rather have some hard times instead of never making a move.
    Love Love Love your blog.
